Our story

140 years of passion

The durum wheat  semolina pasta production started way back in 1870 in Morciano di Romagna a small village near Rimini. Based on the idea of Nicola Ghigi, a baker who founded a small artisan industry.

Following a short time, the small artisan industry turned into a real one with a mill and a feed mill.

In the 60's Ghigi pasta industry employed 400 people and produced 220 quintals per day.

Thanks to its promotional activities among Fausto Coppi' sponsorship (a cycling world champion and one of the best loved sportsman in Italy) Ghigi pasta reached its top in those years becoming the third in Italy, besides Barilla and Buitoni.
